TubeCrop Wiki: video and audio editing guides

Learn to import videos, choose lossless or exact cuts, edit multiple tracks, capture Twitch moments and share clips.

Import a video and keep the original

Start in the basic editor for a quick cut or conversion. A local file can be previewed before it needs server processing.

How to do it

  1. Choose a file or paste a supported video URL, then wait for the preview and duration.
  2. For an unchanged local download, keep Original file and leave the full range, speed, volume and image controls unchanged.
  3. Download the original, or choose the source variant you want before editing a remote video.

Lossless cuts, exact cuts and formats

Lossless copies compatible compressed streams; exact cutting re-encodes to match your chosen times.

How to do it

  1. Set the start and end; for example, select 3.2–18.5 seconds and preview that range.
  2. Choose lossless and review the effective boundaries. They may extend before and after your selection to safe keyframes. Switch to exact if the boundaries matter more.
  3. Use MP4/H.264 for video that needs processing. For audio-only output, choose an audio format such as M4A or MP3.

Build a montage in Studio

Open the advanced editor for multiple sources, tracks and segments. The basic editor remains available for simple work.

How to do it

  1. Add sources, select a segment and move the playhead to the point where you want to split it.
  2. Split, delete, duplicate or reorder segments. Adjust source in/out and timeline start separately: source time selects footage, timeline time places it in the montage.
  3. Use Undo/Redo or Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y when the editor has focus. Export a project file to save the editing instructions; use Download to render media.

Audio waveforms and transitions

Waveforms help locate speech and pauses. Empty pending areas are not necessarily silence; amplitude blocks arrive progressively.

How to do it

  1. Select an audio segment to set its volume and fades. Use track mute/solo to check the mix, and zoom the timeline for detail.
  2. For a transition, place two consecutive video segments on the same track without a gap, select their junction and choose an effect in the gallery.
  3. Apply it, preview the overlap and adjust duration or audio smoothing. Two 10-second segments with a 1-second transition make 19 seconds.

Capture Twitch live and available history

A Twitch channel can provide a live source and, when publicly available and verified, history of the same broadcast.

How to do it

  1. Paste the channel URL and wait for the live preview and the history availability state.
  2. Navigate only within the confirmed available interval, then choose the capture duration and the moment to capture. Compare the displayed effective range with your request.
  3. Use Back to live on the player to return to the current broadcast, then edit a captured segment like another source.

Download, publish and troubleshoot

Download saves a media file. Publish creates a hosted clip with a public page and an embeddable player, when publishing is enabled.

How to do it

  1. Preview your edit, then download it or open Publish. Review the current duration, size, daily quota and retention limits shown there.
  2. For publication, enter a title and description and wait until processing finishes. Keep the private management link safe; it allows editing metadata and deleting the clip.
  3. Share the public link or embed code. If playback fails, check the source status and selected format; use MP4/H.264 for processed video and retry with a short range.
